Krajina České sibiře - srpen 2007
Krajina Benešovska by se pro svůj charakter dala označit jako „typicky česká“. Najdeme zde mírně zvlněnou pahorkatinu s nadmořskými výškami od 200 do 700 m, většina území se však nachází v nadm. výšce přibližně 350 - 550 m. Nápadnou dominantou krajiny je pověstmi opředená hora Blaník (632 m) nad obcí Louňovice pod Blaníkem. Nejvyšší oblastí okresu je tzv. Česká Sibiř v jeho jižní části (mezi Voticemi a Meznem). V této oblasti najdeme také nejvyšší bod okresu - Mezivrata (713 m) s televizním vysílačem. K Benešovsku také částečně patří členité údolí Vltavy - konkrétně část východních břehů vodní nádrže Slapy.
Nejvýše položenou obcí okresu je Miličín (617 m). Naopak nejníže leží obce Krhanice na Sázavě -(276 m).
